ADMIT at EURADOS Annual Meeting 2025 in Bukarest
From 24 to 27 February 2025, doctoral students from ADMIT Subproject A participated in the annual meeting of EURADOS (European Radiation Dosimetry Group) in Bucharest, Romania. EURADOS focuses on scientific and technical research and development in the field of ionising radiation and is organised into several working groups (WGs) specialising in various areas of dosimetry. For these doctoral students, the most relevant groups were WG9 (Radiation Dosimetry in Radiotherapy) and WG6 (Computational Dosimetry).
Within the framework of WG9 (Radiation Dosimetry in Radiotherapy), the ADMIT doctoral students had the opportunity to present their research. Anna Becker and Kim Tabea Giebenhain presented an overview of the project alongside their preliminary results. This was followed by discussions regarding potential future collaborations concerning neutron measurement in radiotherapy.
In addition to providing a platform for exchanging ideas with leading experts—particularly in the field of radiation dosimetry—in a welcoming and open atmosphere, the EURADOS Annual Meeting offered several technical sessions. Of particular relevance to ADMIT Subproject A was the "Bonner Sphere Unfolding Refresher Course" for determining neutron spectra. On the final day of the conference, the doctoral students also gained valuable insights into the significance of metrology in radiation protection during the EURADOS School sessions.
